Chelsea Fans Welcome Abramovich With Open Arms?

That's what The Gaffer over at EPL Talk is saying. It seems a bit odd to me to think that fans of any English club, especially Chelsea, would welcome a foreign owner with open arms. Did they really do that?

No More Cookie?

I have to say I was a bit shocked to wake up this morning and see Chris "Cookie" Coleman has been sacked by Fulham. Why? Sure, they've struggled and slid down the table recently. But what were the club's expectations? A place in Europe? Surely they weren't expecting anything more than mid-table, especially with the small amount of money they've spent on players. If Bullard didn't go out so soon with injury (2 goals in 4 games before the injury) and with the way other teams around them have played, would Coleman still have a job with Fulham in 10th or 11th place?

Premiership Relegation Battle

Last week I took a look at the teams in the relegation battle in England's Premiership. At this point not a lot has changed. I don't believe that Friday's 4-1 loss to Everton means it's time to add Fulham to the mix. Like Aston Villa this year, they are the masters of the draw (14 so far). They're cutting it close but for now I think they'll stay out of the mix. With yesterday's results the picture has changed a bit. Charlton are now technically out of the drop zone. This is how it looks at the bottom right now with 6 games to play : Wigan - 33 points Charlton - 31 points Sheffield United - 31 points West Ham - 29 points Watford - 20 points And the remaining games : Charlton's remaining games : @ Man City April 6th ~ 0-0 Tie Reading April 9th @ Everton April 14th Sheff Utd April 21st @ Blackburn April 28th Tottenham May 7th @ Liverpool May 13th Sheffield United's remaining games : Newcastle April 7th ~ 2-1 Loss West Ham April 14th @ Man Utd April 17th @ Charlton April 21st Watford April 28th @ Aston Villa April 5th Wigan April 13th West Ham's remaining games : @ Arsenal April 7th ~ 0-1 Win @ Sheff Utd April 14th Chelsea April 18th Everton April 21st @ Wigan April 28th Bolton May 5th @ Man Utd May 13th Wigan's remaining games : Bolton April 7th ~ 1-3 Loss @ Aston Villa April 9th Tottenham April 15th @ Liverpool April 21st West Ham April 28th Middlesbrough May 5th @ Sheff Utd May 13th

Colorado - DC United Opening Game Summary (Part 1)

Class VI - No Fan Alone (www.noFanAlone.com) This seemed a pretty fitting way to sum up the weather on the day. Props to the Colorado Rapids supporters group Class VI for the laugh. Too bad the Rapids were selling inaugural day long underwear at the game. It was cold!
